My Life

Time has Expired

The journey has come to an end. The project has expired.   Without an agent or a credible publisher that I don't have to pay for every promotion and all traveling and marketing expenses I have to give up the dream. I have made great personal sacrifices and so has my family. God has said no so now I must be open to his will for my life. I will post again on March 31, 2012 then the website will close down.
Continue to pray for me.

God Bless

My Fitness Pal(My New Best Friend)

Let me begin by saying that I have loss 125lbs and maintained this weight within 5 lbs for the last year. Well these last 60 days have found me gaining 10lbs. I know you think why is she in a panic. The reason is that when you lose the weight you can  never let it get out of control. You have to get back on track so that you don't look up and be 3 dress sizes bigger. Believe me I have tried every diet except weight watchers and once you quit the diet the weight comes back unless you change your lifestyle.

Script Finished

The script for the short film is finally finished. I took a break on Saturday after work to watch the U of L / Kentucky game and celebrate my best friend's birthday with her. Sunday I went to church cooked dinner then back to work.
Some would query my dedication to my work since I took a break. At my age you learn that for any project to be successful one must put God first.

I have also learned that I am blessed to have close friends that have supported me through this long journey.

A Dream Deferred/L

A Dream Deferred byLangston HughesLangston Hughes homepage

What happens to a dream deferred?
Does it dry up
like a raisin in the sun?
Or fester like a sore--
And then run?
Does it stink like rotten meat?
Or crust and sugar over--
like a syrupy sweet?
Maybe it just sags
like a heavy load.
Or does it explode?

Recently I was talking with my daughter. We were joking about my age and my dreams. She queried whether I had been praying the same prayer for 25 years. I looked at her and without hesitation I simply replied yes.

Happy Thanksgiving

Today is a day of thanksgiving. I have thought of my mom a lot today because I decided to cook at her house.I am thankful to be spending this day with friends and family and for the many blessing that I have received.

May your day be full of family and friends and may you and yours be blessed throughout the year.

Continue to pray for me and my family.

Juanita Reynolds of Betsy’s Literary Page wrote in a review of “Children of Plains Estates “The author brilliantly uses simplistic views and emotions of children to expose "our" prejudices, bigotries, and unfounded apprehensions based on lack of knowledge and understanding of cultural, racial, physical, and psychological differences.

Transitions

07-17-11

Life changes after you lose weight. I went from a size 24 to a size ten. Over the years I have taken off weight and put on weight. There are no gimmicks now. Grocery shopping is an event. I read all the labels, and make good choices about the food I eat.

A trip to Golden Coral used to be a salad, then I would head to the food bar with nice portions of fried chicken, mashed potatoes, fried okra, those delicious rolls, followed by ribs and steak then of course  carrot cake and the you will die for chocolate fudge cake.

Tokyo International Book Fair

07-13-11

The book festival is over and of course Publish America presented many options for authors while in Tokyo. If you wanted to be published on Google E-book then pay us 39.00. Two or more books $59.00. If you wanted to present your book to be printed and distributed in Brazil pay us $29.00 with a disclaimer, if  we can't get Ingram to agree we will refund your money. Now if you want your book to be submitted to be translated into Spanish  by Spain pay us $69.00.
As a writer you want your book published in every language and available in every media available but you also feel raped by the publisher.

MY LIFE

06-12-11
The week has ended on a good note. My mom is as well as can be expected. My sister is better and thank God I detailed my car with the help of the grandchildren.

Vacation bible school ended on a high note. My grandson and three other children and teenagers joined the church and gave their lives to Christ. Three of the children were in my class of middle schoolers.
My prayer for my children and grandchildren has been that they commit their lives to God and walk into his divine destiny for their life.

My Life

06-10-2011

Let's see. Everyting that could go wrong went wrong this past 10 days. I was in a car accident. My mom is under hospice care. My daugter lost her keys down town, My grandson has been spiking a fever and my sister is in the hospital.

New management has turned my workplace into a dictatorship. I am surrounded by non -professional women management that have mouths like sailors and are so insecure that they feel the need to control every aspect of the work place down to preventing employees from team building and assisting each other so that the team is more successful.

Todays Message

05-23-11

The last few weeks have been filled with many different emotions but today I feel a sense of peace because I have resolved any conflicting goals for my life. The ambitious  side of me wanted to once again climb the corporate ladder at 53 years ago. The other side of me wants to be a best seller. When I did not get the job I thought I wanted I was hurt and discouraged. At my age I know that hard work does not always mean that the most qualified person always gets the job but still it still affected me threatening to steal my joy and self esteem.

My Life

03-4-11

Wow, I went on vacation last month to the Bahamas. I spent time with friends just relaxing touring Nassau, and South Beach. It was 4 days of heaven. Then I returned home to the reality of my life. Working on a job that has been tossing a carrot for 8 months, taking care of grandkids, homework, reading, tutoring at church, writing, arts and crafts for senior citizens, and checking the website for statistics, and possible openings for my work.
My mom has good days and bad. Days when she is alert and a joy to talk with and then days when she is confused and physically sick all day.
